One of the fundamental elements of any quality or clinical governance initiative is a comprehensive clinical audit programme. Not only does audit bring improvements for patients by identifying and implementing best practice, it encourages multidisciplinary working - improving communication and morale for healthcare professionals too.
The Clinical Audit Department is based at Huntingdon House and is part of the Clinical Governance Directorate. The department is responsible for the strategy, infrastructure and governance relating to the PCT's clinical audit agenda. Staff within the department are available to provide clinical audit support to all practices and staff within the borough and PCT.
All clinical audit projects must be registered with the Clinical Audit department. To register your project you will need to complete a project registration form and return to the Clinical Audit Manager at St Peter's House.

If you are considering starting an audit project and would like support and information, from evidence base, design and collation, please contact the Clinical Audit Manager on 01204 46 2126 or email: clinical.audit@bolton.nhs.uk
