As well as a Stop Smoking Service, there is lots of other work going on in Bolton to help people go smoke free. Bolton has its very own Tobacco Alliance where partners from the Council and NHS Bolton are working together to bring down the smoking prevalence rate in Bolton.
They are currently working on other projects including:
In partnership with Bolton Community network, NHS Bolton has trained community engagement workers to deliver workshops in South Asian communities about the dangers of chewing tobacco and shisha pipe smoking. For more information, email louise@boltoncvs.org.uk
Partners from the NHS, the Council and HMRC are working together to tackle the supply of illicit tobacco in Bolton. If you have any information about the selling of illegal tobacco products, email trading.standards@bolton.gov.uk or ring 01204 336586. Recent work has included law enforcement against illegal tobacco sales and fake cigarettes. (Click for recent news stories)
