It is the aim of the Health Information Centre staff to provide a prompt, efficient and comprehensive information and advice service to the people of Bolton and beyond, in a caring and interested way.
Our town centre premises at Lever Chambers are not just home to lots of primary care and community health services; the building also houses the Health Information Centre.
The Health Information Centre provides an information and advice service about all aspects of community and primary healthcare services in Bolton. The staff there will do their best to answer your queries, and to point you in the right direction if they can't.
They keep up-to-date lists of doctors, dentists, opticians and pharmacists in the borough, and can advise on registering with a new doctor or dentist. They'll also advise on how to go about obtaining a medical card.
They can also provide information leaflets covering a range of health services and how to keep fit and healthy.
You can contact the information centre on 01204 462701.
Please note, the issuing of pre-payment certificates and exemption certificates for prescriptions is now done nationally, and can no longer be done at Lever Chambers. However, staff can advise you on the new procedures.
