This Single Equality Scheme outlines how we intend to meet our legal duties in relation to disability, gender and race, but also outlines and our broader commitment to equality, in relation to the following eight areas:

  • Age
  • Carers
  • Disability
  • Gender (including trans people)
  • Human rights
  • Race
  • Religion or beliefs
  • Sexual orientation

Equality and diversity structures

NHS Bolton has an Equality and Diversity Manager who is responsible for supporting the organisation in improving its performance in relation to equality, across all its functions.

However, demonstrating its complete commitment to embedding equalities issues into the organisations day to day business, NHS Bolton has and identified leads across Directorates to lead and champion the agenda in their areas and has developed a thorough structure of groups to allow the PCT to drive forward work across the PCT, within the community and across partners.
