Places are available on a special course for mums and dads to develop good eating and activity habits for their families.
NHS Bolton’s Happy Healthy Toddler Club is a six-week programme for parents with children between one and four.
Parents and children take part in a fun and energetic physical activity session and share a healthy snack. Then, while the toddlers are cared for, parents will discuss common issues like how to manage family mealtimes and deal with fussy eaters, and understand healthy eating, portion control and food labelling for the whole family.
The programme supports the national Change4Life campaign, which encourages families to eat well, move more and live longer.
Lizzie Ashworth, Food and Health Advisor at NHS Bolton, said: “It is really important to establish healthy eating and activity habits while children are young as this will help ensure that they grow up to be happy and healthy adults later life.
“Through the scheme, we’ll encourage each family to share the issues affecting them and, as a group, support each other to develop solutions and overcome problems.”
The programme starts on Thursday, March 3 at Great Lever Children’s Centre, between 1pm and 3pm.
