Performance data for vital indicators 2009-10

The data below summarises NHS Bolton performance against the ‘vital signs indicators’ for 2009/10.  These are a selection of performance indicators used for all primary care trusts.  We continue to focus on improving the health of the population and reducing health inequalities by focusing particularly on public health interventions and are proud that we

  • reduced MRSA and c difficile infections in Bolton
  • improved our performance on key public health interventions like increasing breast feeding and increasing the number of people in bolton we support to quit smoking
  • have much better than national average rates of immunisations

This data shows that mortality has reduced in Bolton but mortality rates in Bolton have always been very high compared to the England average.  The “Big Bolton Health Plan” which we shared with Bolton people in 2009 makes clear that our priority is to close that gap.
