Local health services

NHS Bolton is responsible for ensuring that the full range of health care services is available to the people of Bolton. It does this by:

  • Providing community services as diverse as intermediate care for older people, audiology for children, podiatry, community nursing and wheelchair services.
  • Co-ordinating and developing the services provided by primary care contractors – family doctors and dentists, pharmacists and opticians.
  • Commissioning hospital and specialist services from other NHS Trusts – and occasionally from the voluntary or private sectors.

Click on the headings in the left hand menu for more information on these services.

We are constantly striving to improve the quality of services and modernise the way they are delivered.
