If you think you may need to see a doctor, first call the practice you are registered with.  Their out of hours answering service will tell you what to do to get an urgent consultation with a doctor.

Remember some local pharmacies are open late in the evenings and at weekends, and the pharmacist can advice on home treatment for many minor ailments. For information on local pharmacies including opening hours, click here.

If you think you may need urgent dental treatment, first call the dental surgery you usually attend. Out of hours, their answering service should tell you what to do to get urgent attention. If you live in Bolton and you're not registered with a dental practice, you may be able to make an appointment with the local emergency dental service. Call 01204 463222 after 5.15pm on weekdays to make an appointment.

The accident and emergency service at the Royal Bolton Hospital is open 24 hours a day; but, remember, it's for accidents and emergencies only.

NHS walk-in centres provide a "no appointment necessary" service for minor injuries, and illnesses.

Our walk-in centre at Lever Chambers Centre for Health is open from 8.30am to 7.00pm on weekdays, from 8.30am to 4pm on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.
