The diabetes team consists of Consultants, Diabetes Specialist Nurses, Dietitians, Podiatrists, reviewing patients with diabetes optimising their care and preventing complications. The team work within primary and secondary care reviewing patients at their time of need.

The treatment programmes involve consultations about lifestyle, dietary intake, weight loss, medication reviews, eye and foot screening with the aim to optimise and maximise treatment dependant upon need individualising care. We also undertake podiatry interventions aimed at preventing and treating foot ulceration and acupuncture aimed at pain management. All patients within
The Diabetes Team also offers and training for Health Care Professionals who work with any patients who have diabetes either within primary or secondary care. As a multidisciplinary team we train, educate and support all staff from a multiprofessional approach.
